Just minutes from the city centre – this 4 star hotel is in an excellent location and was recently had a £1.6m refit in February this year.  Take advantage of the location, you’ll find plenty to do on the doorstep – from shopping and cinema to chic bars and restaurants.

Aldens is on the Upper Newtownard Road in East Belfast, only a few minutes drive from the city centre.  This smart restaurant has been going for some time and owner Jonathan Davis has worked hard to keep his award-winning restaurant a favourite with people from all over.

The menu changes often and usually features top quality meat, game and fish as well as thought out vegetarian cooking.  The set menu (Monday to Thursday) is brilliant value for money with 3 courses for £20 or 2 courses for £17.95.  An early evening menu is served until 6.30pm for under £10. Given the quality, these prices are really hard to beat.

Service was good, the staff are smartly turned out and professional but at the same time they aren’t overly formal.

We hadn’t been in ages so we’re glad to see them doing well and still at it.
